ENTRY-LEVEL and OS-1 INFORMATION

Thank you for considering my school and our training programs. – Capt. Curt Ward

It was a matter of conscience in 2008 when we suspended the origional OS-1 Course while the economy crashed and the entry-level maritime jobs disappeared.

This School refused to mislead or take money from Students when there were no jobs for them!

Today’s entry-level OS-1 assumes you are alert and driven, over seventeen with good vision, free of any drugs or a felony conviction as the Course resumes with the same five days of seamanship classes, plus five days of basic safety and survival classes, a set of work cloths and equipment, papers, and all of the hidden expenses involved between wanting to become a sailor and reporting for that first day of work.

A premier feature of the our new program is our placement service where Success is not measured by if, but by how fast, we place graduates.  Alumni are no longer left to find their way through the marine job market alone – today the School produces, packages, targets, mails, and montiors the Alumni resume’ packages and all job placement activities!

Speaking of the Job Opportunities… you don’t need to believe us!

Read what the Government says about the maritime job market by clicking the link all-the-way-below   ”BECOME A SAILOR?“.

ORIENTATION PRESENTATIONS  (Qualified OS-1 students must attend before their course begins.)

Career Night (CN) – a Free Orientation Seminar that is all about our guests.  Whether changing careers, looking for a trade, or not excited by college, all will benefit from this descriptive seminar that ultimately organizes entry-level job opportunities into sectors and helps the guest take charge of their future.  Each will identify the jobs they want and see their career’s path.  The discussions include descriptions of the jobs from the wide variety of sectors within the marine industry, how to get into them, how they’re structured, how to advance, and how to carve out a maritime Career.  Reservations are required.  Please register using the “Student Notification System” (above), or call Student Services at  (718) 442-5171. Please include your name & cell phone number within all communications!
