Career Night (CN1) – a Free Orientation for civilians changing careers, looking for a trade, or not excited by college. All will benefit from this one hour seminar about jobs from a variety of sectors in the marine industry, how to get into them, how they’re structured, how to advance, and how to carve out a Sailor’s Career if still driven.

Now Recruiting, Six – Engineroom, Wheelhouse, Deck and Galley student-apprentices, Live-aboard, Twenty-five day, Twenty-four Hour Apprentices that want to be engaged, experienced, skilled, sure, safe and Certificated. Apprentices work dy includes attending classes ten hours, standing a Watch six hours, and enjoying eight hours Off-Watch for twenty-four consecutive days aboard the tugboat Edith Thornton (see photos on the web site). Interested parties should see the SI Course Catalogue for a listing of the Prerequisites and the Certificates that are issued by each of the Programs. On the web site’s Enrollment Page you will find the additional Apprentice Application Requirements. Any combination of Checks, Scholarships, and/or Student Loans may be compiled to meet the tuition and expenses. Scholarship or Student Loan funds may not be applied to any surety or security deposits.

it is not clear from description above what prerequsites are required to enter apprentice program on board of Edith Thornton.
Also, what certificates are issued to those who successfully complete the apprenticeship?
